Shane Pescay notches another win on the Elite Redfish Tournament Series and did so in fine fashion. On the back of giant southern Louisiana redfish like the ones shown here, Pescay edged out second place finisher, Paul Dufrene by just ounces.

“I knew I was on good fish but didn’t realize till late in the day that I had a chance of coming all the way back for the win”, Pescay stated.

Shane finished the final tour stop of the 2016 season with a 3 day total of live redfish weighing in at 104.48 pounds, minus a 1.50 penalty for 2 dead fish over the weekend. Shane’s total take for the effort, $50,000.00!

Second place and $11,500.00 went to Paul Dufrene who fell just 10/100’s of a pound behind Pescay. “I could never get rid of a 4 pounder I had to bring to the stage on day 2 and knew that could come back to haunt me and it did”, Dufrene said.

Landing in 3rd place, his best finish of his young Elite Series career was Mississippi’s Bo Favre. Bo weighed in 101.59 pounds and took home $7,000.00. The top 5 finished out with Jay Cedotal in 4th and Texas pro Travis Land landing in 5th. All anglers in the top 5 finished with over 100 pounds.

The weather, facility and giant Louisiana redfish made for a fantastic finish to the 2016 regular season.

Anglers caught and weighed in a total of 239 redfish weighing a total of 1,454.87 pounds which averaged 6.09 pounds per fish!

If you get the chance to fish southern Louisiana in the fall do it, it’s the best, period!

Thank you to the anglers, their families and friends, the staff and volunteers that have helped make 2016 a record setting season for the Elite Redfish Series and we look forward to 2017 being even bigger and better.

Check out the winning boat, a fantastic Yellowfin powered by an awesome Yamaha 115 horsepower outboard sitting on a AmeraTrail custom trailer. Finally, it’s decked out with stylish, cool and comfortable Oceangrip marine deck.

What a great prize from great sponsors and going to a great angler who will once again be called an Elite Redfish Series Champion.

Next up for the tour, the #BorderWarsOpen2016 back on Pleasure Island in beautiful Port Arthur Texas…
