Final Totals

IMG_0362It’s not any surprise that when there’s a tournament taking place, Pearland Texas angler and Majek Boats / Yamaha Outboards pro Clark Jordan is going to be a favorite to win.

In the 2016 Elite Redfish Series Clark topped the field, once again by winning over $125,000.00. The flip side is Clark either won an event or finished out of the money, this all or nothing style has served him well over the years as he is one of the sports top money earners.

Texas pros dominated on the water and on the leaderboard. Second place in total money earnings with $53,500.00 is Rockport Texas pro, Jeff Steckler. Jeff needed a good year with a brand new baby boy in the house, this proud papa came through with his first win on the Elite Series in the tough waters of Bradenton Florida.

In 3rd was another Texas pro, Charlie Barton who took home to Port Lavaca a total of $50,750.00.

The top 5 only saw 1 pro from outside of the great state of Texas and that was 4th place finisher, Shane Pescay who managed $50,500.00 for his 2016 total and made his family and friends back in Covington Louisiana very proud.

The 5th and final spot belonged to Corpus Christi Texas pro, Kevin Akin who landed $30,250.00 during the season. The 2016 tournament season was a huge success and that due to great sponsors like Yellowfin Boats, Yamaha Outboards, Amera Trail Trailers, Power Pole Anchors, Frogg Toggs, Huk Gear, Mid County Ram and more.

In total 32 pros shared a total seasonal purse of $489,400.00. That is nearly one half of a million dollars. That doesn’t happen without great sponsors like the ones mentioned above and a lot of family support by all who competed or helped produced these events.

2017 is just around the corner and whether a competitor, a fan, family member or sponsor we can promise you one thing. It’s going to be another great year to be a part of the Elite Redfish Tournament Series…
